Freja is a beautifully shaped butter knife that sits well in the hand. One butter knife is included in the price. We have chosen to show two examples so that you can see the colour variations. It is handmade in ox horn and is perfectly suited both to the elegant dinner party and to the camping trip. We have used horn in its natural colours to create a unique expression on each knife. According to old tradition, horn is the best material for a butter knife. It is not only beautiful, but also durable (in both senses) and environmentally friendly.

Cow horn is a fantastic material that until about 100 years ago
was widely used for many things.
When plastic arrived, it replaced horns in many utility objects, such as man
traditionally made by hand.
In the past, they did e.g. spoons,
combs, spectacle frames and shoehorns in just horn.
Our horn products are handcrafted with great craftsmanship in a small village in Northeast India. The horns are cleaned, sorted, boiled and ground, before they are shaped into beautiful handicrafts.
Horn is very strong and complete
compostable, a sustainable material, both for you and the environment. All horns used in Nordly's production are a residual product from the meat industry and come from domestic animals.

Care

Horn is a very durable and durable material. If you want to clean or wash your hornware, you can do it easily with warm water and washing-up liquid. If you clean with degreasing agents such as washing-up liquid often and to extend the already long life of the horn, you can also oil the horn with a vegetable oil such as olive oil. And wipe off afterwards with a cloth.
Horn is not dishwasher or microwave safe. As these risk splitting the horn in its different layers.
