This hand-forged seax was one of the absolute favourite weapons of the Scandinavian Vikings. The model is based on several Swedish finds of this type of long single-edged fighting knife. Handle in polished ash. Bolster, pommel and ring in brass.

The blade is hand-forged in carbon steel and hardened in oil, then tempered in the traditional way. The blade is marked with the Nordlys™ "smith's mark" so that you can be sure the seax comes from our smithy.

Please note that the blade on this model is delivered hardened and semi-sharp, and it can also be sharpened to your preferred edge. The model is therefore intended only for collectors and for decorative or ceremonial use. We do not recommend that this model be used for historical combat.
