A classic design that sits well in the hand. Beautiful for a fine table setting and practical for everyday tasks. This traditional butter knife is handmade from cow horn, with the parts glued and riveted using brass rivets. Perfect for spreading your sandwich and very easy to clean. According to old tradition, horn is the best material for a butter knife. It is not only beautiful, but also durable (in both senses) and environmentally friendly.

Material: Brass and cow horn.
The horn used in our production comes from domesticated cattle and is a by-product of beef production. Horn is a natural material that is very beautiful, durable and long-lasting.
Horn is 100% compostable.

Care

Easily washed with warm water, resistant to detergent. But washing-up liquid can dry out the horn over time. If you want to use washing-up liquid regularly, you can oil the butter knife 1-2 times a year with oil intended for wooden kitchen utensils.

Our horn products are crafted in a small village in northeastern India. For hundreds of years, they have received horns from all corners of India and created beautiful handicrafts from them. Nordlys has had a close partnership here for many years with a family of incredibly skilled artisans who share our vision of carrying the craft into the future.
