Today, the beads are made in northern India, in a small village not far from the banks of the Ganges. There, the knowledge of making glass beads is something they are very proud of, and the bead masters dream that their secrets may be passed on to the next generation. And as awareness grows among people and customers around the world who seek jewelry made in lasting and handmade forms, it may no longer be just a dream.</p>
