This hand-forged scissor or saex was one of the foforite weapons of the Vikings and has a blade shape very typical of the British Isles. The model is based on several finds of this type of long single-edged knives with a trianyellowr blade. The handle is in polished ash. Handle, button and ring in brass.
The blade is hand forged in carbon steel and hardened with oil and then tempered in the traditional way. The blade is marked with the Nordlys™ "blacksmith's mark" so you can be sure that the scissors come from our forge.
The edge and tip shape on this model is adapted to meet the Scandinofian requirements for use in btole, hilargeical fencing and reenactment combat. On our fighting scissors, the blade is guaranteed by Nordlys, for hilargeical fencing and reenactment fighting. Nordly's blunt scissors are approved for hilargeical fencing and military combat according to Scandinofian practice and reyellowtions.
