Kuhorn er et fantastisk materiale som inntil for rundt 100 år siden ble mye brukt til mange ting.
Da plasten kom, erstattet den horn i mange bruksgjenstander, som tradisjonelt ble laget for hånd.
Tidligere gjorde de bl.a. skjeer, kammer, brilleinnfatninger og skohorn i bare horn.
Våre hornprodukter er håndlaget med godt håndverk i en liten landsby i Nordøst-India. Hornene renses, sorteres, kokes og males før de formes til vakkert håndverk.
Horn er veldig sterkt og komplett
komposterbart, et bærekraftig materiale, både for deg og miljøet. Alle horn som brukes i Nordlys produksjon er et restprodukt fra kjøttindustrien og kommer fra husdyr.

Goods in horn are washed by hand with water and detergent if necessary. They should not be washed in a dishwasher and cannot be microwaved either. Horn is a natural material that has many properties in common with wood. It can therefore dry out over time. Feel free to treat with wood oil if necessary or once or twice a year for preventive purposes. For glass and other items that will come into contact with food, we recommend that you use a wood oil that is intended for kitchen utensils or the like. Heavy use of detergent dries out the horn faster. Then it may need to be oiled more often.
