Amber yellow glass bead, Hellevi Gotland

A small yellow composite bead, found during excavations in Hellvi on Gotland in Sweden. The bead was discovered alongside other glass and carnelian (stone) beads. The original is from the Viking Age. Gotland is one of the "richest" places in the world in terms of treasures. The glass bead is a historical reproduction and handmade using the same technique of melting glass rods on a metal pin that the Vikings used.
